Our Story
Established in January of 1996, Carina New York is a family-run business committed to delivering superior quality leather and shearling production, located in the heart of New York City’s garment district.
Alfred Sabetay began his career in the late 60s learning fur and shearling production practices from his father in Queens. In 1973, Alfred entered the leather industry by opening his first production facility alongside a business partner. Alfred then branched off on his own in 1996 to create Carina New York, with his daughter, Paula Stvan joining him the following year.
Together they built a private label business catering to some of fashions most notable brands. Paula had worked with many of fashion’s most recognizable designer labels. Her demand for excellence in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and timely deliveries has been the catalyst for a successful family-run business. She is proud to be following in her father’s entrepreneurial footsteps.

Carina - NY is committed to delivering quality production services to New York City . Our highly skilled workers are specialized in leather, shearling and denim production, offering you the highest quality garments. Our demand for excellence in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and timely deliveries has been the catalyst for a successful family-run business over the years.
As we manufacture garments with genuine, high quality, leather and shearling, we strive to be conscious of our waste created throughout the production process by saving fabric scraps. We have the ability to make accessories, apparel embellishments, or small home goods out of discarded fabric through that can elevate any brand. We now offer production + upcycling as an option to brands and designers who are interested in being environmentally conscious as well.
